Missionaries to the Native Americans
My name is Gerry Locklear, DOB 12/26/57, and my wife’s name is Sheril, DOB 1/27/57. We are missionaries to the Native Americans wherever found in lower United States, Alaska and Canada. Sheril and I are both members of the Lumbee Tribe located in eastern North Carolina. We have lived in Fairview, North Carolina, for more than 20 years. I was saved August 10, 1980, and Sheril was saved September 9, 1993. We are both members of Hoopers Creek Baptist Church and have been for over 20 years.
I surrendered to the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ on August 3, 2009, and was ordained April 11, 2010, at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church. Because of more than 20 years of mission work among the Native Americans I knew right off my call and mission.
My first work is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and pray that God would be glorified and that sinners would be saved. I am a 30 year Law Enforcement retiree and for more than 20 years we have labored among our native people delivering them the Gospel of Jesus Christ and working with missionaries already established on reservations. At present we are working with over 45 reservations. God has truly called us to an overwhelming mission field. We also coordinate mission groups in building projects and teach Bible schools.
We would like you to consider us and our ministry as your missionaries to the Native Americans. By your monthly support we are able to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these forgotten people.
Thank you for your interest in native mission work and your confidence in us. Please pray that we would be sensitive to God’s leadings and that we would be faithful and obedient servants, pleasing unto the Lord.
For more information please feel free to contact us. We would also be available to come to your church and meet you and share our ministry and burden.
